The Lexus TX three-row SUV enters its second model year with minimal changes, while continuing to offer both hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrain options alongside a non-hybrid gasoline version.
The 2025 Lexus TX 500h hybrid is offered in F Sport Performance Premium and F Sport Performance Luxury grades priced from $70,010 and $73,160, respectively (all prices include a $1,350 destination charge).
2025 Lexus TX
Sold with all-wheel drive as standard, the TX 500h debuted what Lexus calls a Parallel Hybrid system, the same as parent Toyota’s Hybrid Max. It combines a 2.4-liter turbo-4 and 6-speed automatic transmission with two electric motors—one sandwiched between the engine and transmission, and the other at the rear wheels—altogether making 366 hp and 409 lb-ft of torque.
The TX 550h+ plug-in hybrid is offered in a single Luxury grade, also with standard all-wheel drive, priced at $78,560. It combines a 3.5-liter V-6 with Toyota’s familiar planetary-gear hybrid system and includes a rear motor, layout similar to the Toyota RAV4 Plug-In Hybrid (nee Prime), but with a V-6 that allows for a total system output of 404 hp.
2025 Lexus TX
Lexus still estimates 33 miles of electric range for the TX 550h+ and 30 mpg combined after that. The TX 500h hybrid’s EPA-rated fuel economy of 27 mpg combined from the 2024 model year will likely remain the same as well.
Built in Indiana, the TX performs a similar role to the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid, serving as a larger, longer companion model to a mid-size crossover, in this case the Lexus RX. The RX is also available in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid configurations, but the TX satisfies those wanting a bigger and boxier vehicle without stepping all the way up to the gigantic Lexus LX.
